The idea is to model the behaviour of the x and y axis of the accelerometer initially by logging the data as I said before. Then I hope to map seven or eight defined profiles to the fpga. Really all I wanted to do with the adu is just moniter the output of the accel. first. Then I will be switching to a different processor which may be more suitable to the project as a whole. Then as a user moves there hand in one of the defined profiles the processor while send the continuous data to the fpga which will either recognise it or not and if it does will carry out the matched function to movement. This project has been done before, not in my college, but I think the idea of using the fpga was purely down to efficiency. Apparently it will work much faster than all assembly code.
