#3338 - RE: risky new chips |
Now that I'm done laughing at the replies about the language barrier I can add some more to the real subject.
I too am concerned with availability. In the past I have always went the safe route and kicked myself a few times because the new great part was actually on time. I guess as long as I have a backup plan I feel safe enough, since this project won't be released for 6 months anyway. Samples are due in late July and production in September. They said they have final testing to do but in the past they have not had to change parts, and this is an update to an existing part so they don't expect any changes. I'm just going to cross my fingers. For me the time savings from not having to write Windows drivers, update my Windows code and write all that initialization, configuration, etc. B.S. for the other USB chips is well worth it. I love Plug and Play chips! In the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) they state they have had Windows 98 drivers for 2 years. Mike |
