#34051 - RE: 8-Pin DIL, SMD and bad eyes |
Although it's somewhat off-topic: manual soldering of QFP's and PLCC's isn't that difficult at all. I dare to say that if you have some experience it's even difficult to see any difference with 'automatically' placed and soldered chips. What you DO need is a PCB with a good solder mask and a syringe of good quality soldering paste. Just put a continuous strip of soldering paste over all PCB pads and don't bother about the track-free area's, just make a continuous line of paste. Put the chip in position, take a soldering iron and slowly pull it over the pins of your chip. Clean with some flux-clean and a soft bristle and presto! I do regular repairs on Hitachi H8 boards (80 pins QFP), no failures yet. |
