I need to configure the 8051 serial port to 9600Baud with 8N1 format. I know how to set the baud rate and am wondering which mode of operation (of 0 to 3)is 8N1 format.
mode 1 (see "bible" ch3 page ~17) Also, is a MAX232 chip needed to convert the serial output to rs232 format or can i use the serial download cable which must contain such a chip never heard of a cable with this chip in Erik |
