#34997 - Laser link baud rate too slow |
Hi all,
some of you might remember that I asked for laser diodes and stuff some weeks ago. In the meanwhile I built this laser link, and it works fine even over a distance of 100 meters. But I'm still facing one big problem: The fastest baud rate I achieve is 300 baud. That's pretty slow. I don't know whether this is the laser module or the circuit (quite bad handdrawing :-) I used to drive it. The laser doesn't switch off fast enough. Thanks for any help, Jörg PS: The laser module works with 3V, the rest of the circuit has 5V, that's why I used the diodes to drop down voltage. The signal comes from a 74HCT14 Schmitt trigger, the serial port is an MAX232 from Maxim with 1uF capacitors. |
