But even with hyper terminal,,,,If he configures for NO HANDSHAKING then the handshake line states are a of no concern. The UARTs in PC's do not have any sort of hardware handshake control at the chip level. It is all handled via software (i.e. in this case Hyper Terminal.
This is the reason I took the time to describe a test that Dave can run on the PC side by wiring the PC in loopback to see if the PC setup with Hyper Terminal is working before he blames other parts of his hardware or cables. Until that test is complete and Dave reports success with it, then he can address the other issues. Michael Karas |
