Hi Rob,
Thanks for the suggestion. As it's an operation I have to do about 36 times in the program, it makes sense to make it a procedure.Also, since the initial posting, I've RTM'd again, & found out a lot more about pointers & strings. Still, it's wierd using 2 different methods to work on a string, when all I wanted to do was : mid$(timers$, pos)="005" (QuickBasic)!! Regards, Richard.be |
