#39357 - Pull ups and Pull downs... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Dear George,
If I WERE you, then I would not dream of connecting a load a.k.a LED to the port pins - no matter whether you source or sink with it. I do know that if you do it properly ( connecting load directly to port pin) then both you and the MCU are safe. But when you are in doubt whether there is a pull up or pull down or it is weak or it is strong or it is active low or it is active high or whether tomorrow it will rain or not - then do it safely: Use a driver between the load and the MCU. Enjoy Raghu |
