I see the advantages of CAN. Since as Erik pointed out the ship will sink some times, what happens to the CAN bus when exposed to water? Should the connectors be water tight? The ships do get water in them durring battle even if they do not sink. The nodes and servos and such are encapsulated to be water tight.

I have not selected the compiler yet. Will I need to get CAN support? Can I write transmit and receve routines like I do for other things?(Serial).
