Why dont you look at parts with tbe FLASH built right on board. Cygnal Integrated products has a whole line of 8051 type procesors that have very high performance with 1X clocking. They gave some parts with 64K and even 128K byte FLASH. There are parts that go up to 50 MHz and now even some parts with clocking up to 100 MHz.
