 		 #41069 - Makin PCB for Surface Mounted(off topic)
Hi all,

I am contructing a USB/8051 project which uses Phillip's PDIUSBD12 chip to interface. The problem is that it is a SMD(they no longer sell the DIL version) which for me, as an amateur creates alot of problem.
I have no experience with SMD's - is it at all possible for an amateur? What equipment do I have to use?
If not, is there some other way to solve this problem?

(Yes, this is off topic. Anyone know any forum/mailinglist where posting general electronic questions is ok? Couldn't another forum be created at this site? It sure would be appreciated and the traffic is quite good IMHO.)
