This paste and heat gun method sounds very intersting. I have never heard of it before. Would somebody that is familiar with the process find and post a link to the kind of heat gun that is used?

Also, do you apply the solder paste in a swath just down the lead pad rows? How is the paste put on and spread out. What happens to excess paste after the pass with the heat gun?
