#41247 - RE: 80196 vs 8052 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I am the one selling the 80196 signum emulator. I would not recommend using the 80196 on new design projects. Too my knowlegde there are not many tools available for the 80196 compare to 8051. 80196 is a 16bit processor which will do 16bit arthimatic faster than 8052. However, if you really need the processing speed use the Arm processor. The Arm is so widely used that it is price comparable with 80196. The tools available for the Arm processors are ten times better then 80196. And you will be able to locate Arm processor for several years to come. I am not so sure you will be able to locate 80196 chips for much longer.
That is why, I am getting rid of my emulator at a cheap price. sdolan@jernie.com |
