You also need to have a couple of volts drop across the 79xx devices to get any decent voltage regulation out of them, if you have a 12VDC mains supply (12VDC Plug Pack?) into a 12 Voltage reg you may have some issues here.
Depending on your current draw you are able to get -Voltage Generators (you put +x volts in and get -x Volts Out) Linear Tech Make them LT1054 is the part number good to about 125mA (enough for OP Amps etc) |
