Hi,

I made a 4-level elevator (= lift!) for my daughter's Barbie House (Ok, so standard is 2 floors, but we had 2 sets of bits to work with!). IR remote control too! DC motor-powered winch in the roof, 1 micro-switch per floor, & initialisation (if no switches on at all) by moving slowly up & down till a switch turns on.
Use a state machine (previously discussed here), & make it work on paper first. The 2 sets of doors will add complications, but this is ideal sub-routine material.
