Hallo Michael

I use normal NC NO to detect weather push button is pushed slow or fast and use this to decide if the machine stop slow (normal shut down) or fast stop (operator did sleep and there is nomore matereal in the machine) emergancy stop is extra.
I am using the switches paralel and get a puls for pressing down (length velocity)
and i use the time to the next puls that means Button released.
