hey there,

i want to control a sony camera (with optical and digital zoom/focus) with the 80C54 uC via the RS232 protocol.

i've the datasheets for this uC, but i still can't figure out how RS232 on this uC works.

what is the best way to connect the RxD and TxD (from the camera). can i just connect them to the TxD and RxD pins on my uC???(cross connect, the TxD from the camera to the RxD on my uC, and visa versa)
and do i need to synchronize the databits while recieving data from the camera. or can i just read the SBUF??

i configured the uC that it'll use a baud rate of 9600 bps @ 11.0592 Mhz. with no parity bit, 8 databits and 1 stopbit.

i would appricatie it if anyone can help me with this or if anyone knows where i can find good information (preferable in dutch)
