The original intent was to use an 8051 in a unique role. (The more micro controllers the better.) Ultimately this pump will be controlled by a node off the CAN network. The fist CAN ship is necessarily a simple unit with just a few nodes. I am trying to get it in the water fast. Going off topic was not intended.

Thanks for the condolences. We louse too many ships to bilge failures. That's why there will be more than one and why I wanted to use an off the shelf ready to use pump.
