I read both datasheet and what I said is that they don't have the same peripheral devices ( or same amount ex. Eram).

About using more modern package I'm completely agree with you, but the problem is that in my country is very difficult to obtain other package than dip. Also PCB manufacturer are very obsolete.
Good point what you state about increasing inductivity.
