Hallo Michael,
you are right, multiplexing is the absolut standard in industry for such task. And, of course, when designing such circuit for a customer I would also use multiplexing methode. I only wanted to tell, that when I design something for private use I try to avoid multiplexing and to use some static circuitry like memory mapped 8bit latches, because I have a certain mistake with my eyes, which unfortunately I cannot translate into English, which stresses me abnormally when looking onto some flickering display. Even glasses will not help. I also try to decrease rate of actualizing display to about 2 or 3 times per second maximum. May be that my reply had a too personal touch and resulted in some strange advice. Bye, Kai |
