#46141 - RE: Digital algoritham for power factor cal. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Suyash,
I wrote a full code in assembly for PF calculation in 8052 using simple zero crossing detection algorithm and measuring the relative periods of I and V. Then some small coding detected the Phase Lag or Lead factor. A full cycle of V and I were handled - This worked reasonably well for 50 Hz mains. Maybe you can improve on this. Then finally using a selector switch I could display Volts / Amps/ Real power / Apparent power / PF . Actually I did this for a student project where I was supposed to guide but as is always ended up doing the complete code. I have no use for it now. I can send you the code if you need it. It uses ADC 0808 for the analog section and thats all the resolution you can get. And I should thank Mr Kai Klass for giving certain important tips when I developed this, without which I could have not completed it. Let me know and I can mail it to you. But you just have to give me a days time as I will return to my base only on Thursday the 22nd. Raghu |
