With all the folks here and on other Forums wishing for 24-bit integers, they've got to be on someone's FAF (Frequently Asked for Features) list. IIRC, at least one DSP compiler vendor has a 24-bit integer type. Since many microcontroller compiler vendors already offer "extensions" to ISO/ANSI C, maybe if we all yell loud enough someone will hear.

But, how does that saying go: "If a tree falls in the forest..."?
