I had a lokk on the TDA 8444 - its interesting. Sure - 6 bit is quite sufficient. I'll check the price tomorrow.

I did considder PWM, but this a ad on to a existing system. I would have to use a 8052 with PCA - a T89C51rd2, or something like it, just for this....

or maybee make some software PWM in an old fashion 8032!

Hmmmmm. I'll think I'll grab a beer, and sit outside in the nice sunny spring, and think a litle bit more.
