#47426 - RE: Audio tapes for data storage Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Do not even waste your time messing around with storing data on audio tape. You will spend a lot of time and energy and end up with what I would consider a huge kludge. My comments for data storage to you will be identical to those I gave a couple of weeks ago to somebody that was insisting that they wanted to hook a floppy disk drive up to a 8052.
You should consider instead connect up a compact flash card. You get MEGABYES of storage that is 10000 times more reliable than audio tape. And these days you can pickup 8M and 16M flash cards for just a song and a dance. It is very easy to connect a compact flash card up to an 8052. A good place to start looking is to comb through the http://www.sandisk.com web site. Michael Karas |
