These are two completely different animals - it's not a matter of choosing between them.
You might well want to use an emulator to debug your software running on an evaluation board! An evaluation board provides you with a known good (hopefully!) hardware platform on which you can try out (ie, "evaluate") a device without having to design and debug your own hardware. An emulator allows you to debug your system in its target hardware environment - as opposed to a Simulator which is a purely software tool needing no target hardware at all! |
