#47576 - Compact Flash for Data logger |
Hello,
The subject of compact Flash has been coming up recently and looks like I can make use of it in a portable data logger application. The application is this : - Output from 12 bit ADC to be captured at 100mS intervals. - A total of three channels have to be captured with time stamp. - Thus each sample will occupy somthing like 10 Bytes including some ID info. - With 1K byte memory, I can grab information for 10 sec approx. - My total capturing time is around 15 Minutes and I think I will need 90K memory. - Going by the current memory cards available I think I will get hours of capture, so, that is not an issue. I will for now settle with something like 16MB flash card. ( I have gone through the SanDisk site and a data sheet from Hitachi plus the recent psoting by Mike on this ) However I am completely new to this and would hence request that someone just give me the actual model that will suit my purpose as defined above. I can take on from there. I have tried to get on my own with searches but the variety and info. available is intimidating - particularly when you are you new to the topic. Thanks for your time Raghu |
