"Why, oh why do you guys open attachments."

I didn't open it. NAV caught it.

Not so long ago, I ran without virus protection software and would not open unexpected attachments then either, but if I ever had any desire to open an attachment (e.g., client sent me a file without knowing my policy), I would inspect it via a "backdoor" means such as a HEX editor and only open it if I was comfortable with the inspection. I still do that even though I run with virus protection now and fortunately have never been infected (to my knowledge).

I'm just warning those that do not practice "safe hex".
