Hi Mikkel,
Somehow I have this bias against "simulated" discretes. OK theoritically you can achieve a DAC with resistors and an 8 bit port. But quite frankly would it come come anywhere closer to the 8 Bit DAC that is dedicated for the job ? When offering such solutions I think it is a good idea to spell out the limitations as well. Otherwise you will have another posting to contend within a few days later that says it is not doing what it is supposed to do the way it is supposed to do it. But there is no arguing that these are economical solutions for one-off trials.. Raghu |
