Based on almost three year of experience with Cygnal devices I can thoroughly recommend it!

Although I'm not a hobbyist (well... call me a 'professional hobbyist' ;o) ), I would have no problem buying one of the development kits. The F020 and F124 are particularly good, because they have a 96-pin DIN 41612 connector and it's very easy to design a PCB that connects to that. Saves a lot of hassle with development and is great for experimenting.
