I would suspect so. IAR's documentation is kinda sketchy. I had to scan through a bunch of assembler output code initially just to prove to myself that it did generate code for the second DPTR. Now of course I don't remember what it was for. You've got me a bit curious, just I might have to go back a take another look. I suspose I could cheat and just ask IAR...
