That only means the crystal is connected to the PCB - but how sure ae you that it is internally connected ?! Ok was joking - but maybe the crystal is now just a stone. Tried another one?

SUre you must have checked the tips given by Abhishek and others - revert back after you solved the problem - can add it to my expert database...
