#49509 - Advices wanted on MCS51 simulators. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Jez, Andy, Erik and Michael, thank you for your advices.
The simulator is intended to be used in an engineering institute, for lab works and projects for students. I search a sort of "Swiss knife" software, able to integrate the needs of embedded computing training in the same package. We use Cygnal F020 boards for embedded computing and UP1X Altera's boards for FPGA developments. A great number of our projects includes analog circuitry, EPLD and processor. A synthetic view and simulation of the system is needed. I have found 2 interesting packages : - Proteus VSM for 8051, but support of F020 is not clear, as ability to simulate analog circuits. - Electronics Workbench's Multisim 7, but support of processors seems missing. This package is ideal for mixed electronic simulation, with a VHDL subsystem. I want an hybrid of these 2 CAD packages. We have launched a software project for mixing GEDA and JSIM51, but we are still very far of a viable result ! And I want a ready made simulator for september... Best regards, Jean MASSON |
