As Jez said, there's lots of information on LFSR-based stream ciphers to be had by searching the Internet. Schneier's book also deals with them in detail and if you do decide to get the book, be advised that http://www.counterpane.com/ac2errv30.html is where you will find the book's errata. If you get the 5th printing or later, the errata list isn't too big and in any case, the existence of errata should not discourage you from obtaining the book for reference on this and future projects. It's just that the need for errata on subjects like cryptography and algorithms is probably obvious (i.e., get something wrong, and "poof" there goes your security).
