I use the initialize high state of I/O pins for resetting peripherals, particularly to shut off noisemakers while the uP boots up.

Be aware that Phillips has an errata out on the RX+ series RESET pin if its to be used with the internal watchdog timer. You have to include a series resistor. Better to use the RX2 series.
