Recently when filling up a Tender document for a MCU based instrument, the following query had me stumped:

List the Tools / Methods used for software testing prior to finalizing the firmware

Though I described the testing methods verbatim, I wasn't sure if that was the right way. I am interested to hear on this topic - like if there are any tools for software testing. For instance I have heard of this MISRA for C - but that is specifically for the automotive systems and basically a guideline for good coding practices..

( Yes I have tried to Google - it returns SO much of results and is intimidating even to start looking into it )
