I'm using a graphic LCD using the KS0108 driver.
There is no "smart" function inside. You can only display dot per dot your text and graphics.
This means you'll have to code functions to display text using dot per dot functions.
It's pretty simple in fact.

The big big advantage is cost. For one part, here in France the 128x64 display cost 27 euros (about 27$)
A T6963C cost 3 times more. (Check manufacturers as Densitron, Matrix Orbital or ODT)
