#52114 - Long range proximity sensing |
Hi all,
I have searched here and there and the maximum distance that is offered is no more than 15 Meters and that too is with the OEM's drive electronics (like Polaroid), whereas I have to do it with my own electronics (caveman's electronics). How about using the Laser instead of sonar ?? I want to use ordinary laser pointer (red dot) on the target. Mind you, " THIS IS NOT RANGING " I only want to get the red dot reflected back off a target (of rough surface) from a certain distance approximately 50 Meters. So please help me how can I welcome the reflections. Is red dot going to reflect back enough luminance so that the photo transistor could still detect it. OR do I need some Lens in combination of amplifier to detect the refelected red dot. Do I need to decrease the collimation off the laser pointer so that the transmitted laser is in a big circle instead of only a dot. I think it will facilitate detecting the reflections with lens. Thanks Babar PS: this proximity sensing is a part of whole project which is 8052 based. |
