I had done this on the off chance the compiler placed the whole serial routine in the interrupt table. I’m not very good at reading the list files just yet although I'm very comfortable writing in assembly for the 8051 so this was a quick way to make sure that what I was fearing was not actually happening. I will try the suggestions and report back any changes later this evening.
