btw, I do not sure that byte-write EEPROM is better than block-write one. I asked Atmel tech and they say that writting from Column Latches to EEPROM takes no more than 10ms typically. Now try calculate how long time it takes to write all 128 bytes via byte-by-byte EEPROM. I know it really from AT89S8252: 2.5ms for the each byte! (=
