hi,
i am doing a sch project on a universal remote control(IR) using 8051 (atmel 89c52). i have a few questions to ask

a) any idea how to get the manufacturer codes of major brands, for VCR, TV, Aircon?

b) usually which emitter is the best? 870nm for all is it okie?

c) on some commercial remote i saw, there is a auto program or search function..how to do it with 89c52? using the same emitter??

question a - i am presently decoding thru oscillopscope.
quetion b - presently using one clear type 875nm emitter

question c - this i really got no idea..pls help
