presently wat i did is using oscilloscope to get the timing codes.

i would like to know how can i do a auto search function in the controller. Assuming i have most of the brands commands stored in the MCU. for instance, u point ur remote to the hi fi u want to control, and press search button, it will detect the suitable codes stored in MCU. i would like to know how can this be done using the same emitter (most universal remotes are like that or is it??)

any ideas?
