#55661 - Cygnal in the news
Many of you (and me) have been extremely interested in Cygnal and their higly capable line of 8051 derivative parts. There is a big news announcement on Sept 25, 2003 that another company called Silicon Laboratories has made an agreement to acquire Cygnal Integrated products through a stock exchange arrangement. Click here for the press release.

In the long run this could be a very good thing for the longevity of Cygnal. Up to now Cygnal has been privately held by the founders and the initial investors. This new arrangement will move the combined stock to the public market if I read things correctly as Silicon Laboratories is already publicly traded on the NASDAQ.
