Many of you (and me) have been extremely interested in Cygnal and their higly capable line of 8051 derivative parts.

True , But why dont they step into 5V line ,their scope of business will even grow more . I am not talking about the need of USA ,Canada or Japan but there are masses of designers and marketers who are such stubborn that they dont like using or marketing 3.3V parts either because its a new thing for them or just because they do not whish to change .
