Hi Erik,
You can also use temperature sensor ICs with built in ADC which give out direct digital values both for F and C in a linear way (search MAXIM). To avoid the calculations altogether I think you need to calibrate your ADC. Just read the temperature from a standard thermometer and the corresponding readout from your ADC. Put them in two columns in the spread sheet and use the search technique of Jay. Jay, will calibration help to go around the calculations ??
