To expand on Andy's comment on timing requirements and not assuming that 50ms is OK everywhere, on-hook/off-hook is also called make/break and countries may specify different make/break ratios. For example, you may see 60/40 specified, which means that a 100ms pulse cycle is 60ms on-hook and 40ms off-hook.
Also, I have designed a number of modem-enabled products for many foreign (to the USA) countries and have run across a few that require a placing a different impedance across tip and ring while pulse dialing. That's something to check for in your telcom specs. Your DAA may have provisions for controlling the pulse dialing impedance. |
