#57241 - RE: Who still uses the DOS edit or notepad ? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Naturally I use the DOS boxes in the 50 lines mode and also NC and BC both support it.
My PC is an Athlon 1.6GHz 786MB under Windows NT4.0 service pack 6. I was really surprised, that Windows-NT still support direct access to the COM with inportb() and outportb() from a self written Borland-C DOS program (for flashing and debugging my 89C51 projects). A friend gave me the hint, that a dongle driver can rescue the COM and LPT from the OS-protection. I installed it prior testing my DOS programs, so I'm not sure. Peter |
