I've been asked at my technikon to design a control system of a geyser which must have the following features:
1. The period for which it is switched on, must be adjustable in half-hour steps with range of 1 to 3 hours.
2. It must have a manual override, switching the geyser on for a period of three hours.
3.The time from the normal switch-on period to the other must be adjustable, also in half hour steps, from eight to twelve hours.
4. Should there be a power failure, the system should restart with a heating period before entering the normal morning/evening cycle
-> The system must be synchronised with day/night cycle. That imlies that a 24-hour clock should form an intergral part of the design.

Please don't get me wrong, But I've tried to do this project since it was given to me in August. Ive tried using the AT89C51 for my project but I can't seem to get it right, because I need to design a clock which will be displayed using four seven segment displays and at the same time using the sane IC to control the geyser.
Another thing for presentetion purposes one hour must be made equal to one minute.

I desperately need help as I need to submit this project before the 11th of November. Any kind of help will be appreciated.
