#58268 - RE: serial interface Responding to: ???'s previous message |
"On a parallel ADC, this is done through a parallel bus, a serial device uses a serial bus for that purpose."
"bus" there should read "interface" to be truly general; a "bus" is a particular type of "interface" that can be shared by many devices (from the latin "Omnibus" meaning "to/with/for/from/by the use of everyone") Thus, a Serial ADC (or DAC) has a serial interface; it may or may not be a serial bus. I2C, SPI, and Microwire are all examples of serial busses |
