All you need is an amplifier with a gain of 1 for the LSB DAC and an amplifier with a gain of 256 for the MSB DAC. Now, when using a high gain amplifier, you need to worry about noise
with 0-5V out from the DACs, I would use a gain og 2 for the MSB and a gain of -128 for the LSB.

Still you will not get the precision you would get from a true 16 bit DAC
