I wonder why Charles Banister didn't reply first. He once replied to a similar post and he was very right. Make yourself a golden egg laying duck from 8051 and you won't need a job elsewhere !!!

I believe that the free lancers in embedded world fairly outnumber those who are properly employed somewhere.

You can self employ way way way beofre you get an employment you are looking for.
